What funding are you entitled to?
If you’re a homeowner, tenant or landlord, are you taking advantage of the funding schemes that are currently (or soon to be) available to make your property more energy efficient?
The government have unlocked multiple pots of funding from some of the major utility companies, supported by Ofgem in a bid to assist with improving insulation within the residential sector.
You may qualify for loft and/ or cavity wall insulation installed at a fraction of the cost, or perhaps totally free of charge, if you meet all of the criteria.
Longterm, the aim is to contribute to lowering the UK’s carbon emissions and working towards a greener future to include the Great British insulation scheme which plans to launch this Summer and run until March 2026.
We feel that the Great British Insulation Scheme (formally ECO+) may be the most significant and beneficial changes soon available; as it not only boost help for those on the lowest incomes, but it planes to extend support to a wider range of households living in the least energy-efficient homes in the country (those with an Energy Performance Certificate rating of D or below) and in the lower Council Tax bands (A-D and England, A-E in Scotland and Wales).
This means that more people than ever, will be on the receiving end of financial help to help reduce the costs associated with making their home more energy efficient.
Other funding currently available
Boiler Upgrade Scheme
You could get a grant to cover part of the cost of replacing fossil fuel (oil, gas, electric) heating systems with a heat pump or biomass boiler. Read more at gov.uk
ECO4
A complete multi measure ‘whole house’ retrofit energy upgrade for the least energy efficient homes in fuel poverty, you must be a tax band G-D to qualify. Read more at Ofgem.co.uk
